Project timeline plays a key role
in the success of the project. Since this project required lots of research,
the team spent the first four weeks on researches and literature study. In
weeks 2 and 3, the team tried to identify the main challenges. These included a
mechanism to cut coconuts, finding a drone with high pay load and exploring safety
mechanisms. In weeks 3 the team started solving the key problems, which
included finding a mechanism to cut coconuts. This was a major part of the
project and the team successfully completed it. In weeks 3, 4 and 5, the team
worked on finding a drone with high pay load. After that the team focused on
identifying an appropriate saw, the weight and power of the saw were taken into
consideration during this process. During this time another challenge got
developed which was the difficulty in maneuvering the drone where coconut
leaves stick out, the team solved this issue by finding an appropriate robotic
arm. Lastly, the team reviewed the whole design based on its strengths and
limitations.
